Mes chausseurs ne vont pas ensemble:  _____ est bleu est l'autre jaune-colors may be wrong.  I put l'un which was wrong and l'une was right.  What am I missing here, chausseur is masculine

Hi Mike,

The example in the Kwiz is -

Mes chaussures ne vont pas ensemble - l'une est rouge et l'autre bleue = My shoes don't match, one is red and the other is blue

Chaussure is feminine, one clue would have been bleue ( the final -e is a mark of the feminine noun)

Bonne Continuation!

Hi Mike,

Shoe  --> chaussure (nf)

Shoes  --> chaussures

Chausseur (nm) -- > Shoemaker

I think this is the answer that you are looking for.

Hope it helps, Jim

Are you sure it wasn’t “mes chaussettes” as per the example in the lesson ? “ Chausseurs doesn’t fit, as Jim notes. More likely to have odd coloured socks than shoes or shoemakers, but I guess anything  is possible in fashion !

You're all right.   I misspelled "chaussures" as "chausseurs" when looking up the word.  Didn't read the definition, only whether it was M of F. Sorry.
