Laisser vs déposer?

In the second last sentence, could you use "déposerai" instead of "laisserai"?

Hi Ethan,

In the case of a car as in this text, you couldn't use 'déposer' which is used for small items.

J'ai déposé un paquet à la poste = I dropped a parcel off at the post office

Hi Ethan,

I think that using laisser would be the most appropriate verb in this context, although both laisser and déposer take abandonner as a strong synonym.
