Louis Napoleon Bonaparte was born on August 15 1769 in the Corsican city of Ajaccio. His family belonged to the island's nobility. His last stay on the island was in 1799, but he always remained Corsican in his heart. Corsica still celebrates him with many statues and celebrations.
